Wishbone knocking

After I thought my ARB bushes were causing the knock, its turned out to be the wishbones.

Does anyone have the part number for these and other ball joints I may need in that area...

Thanks in advance :)

What mileage is the car on? Any knocks from the front suspension could also be tie-rod end, broken spring or worn top mount. ;)

Mileage is only 34k, and were the 2nd owners. We bought it 2 yrs ago with 20k on the clock......

Iam waiting for a dry weekend to get under it properly

At that milage i would be very suprised if its the wishbone i would say more link/tie rods they are a very common thing to go ball joint each end

A dry weekend... that'll be April then!

It definitely isn't the wishbone. They're good for 100k+. Drop links are relatively inexpensive to replace. Buy genuine VAG part. Although available on Ebay the cheap Chinese parts here just aren't up to the job. Clean the exposed thread on the drop-link with a wire brush and Duck Oil release before trying to undo the nut. If you have a scissor jack (other than the jack you're using to raise the vehicle), then place this under the wishbone arm at the lower ball-joint. Raise it slighty here to help with refitting. Axle stand is a must too.;)

droplinks have a specific knocking point, though, so when you're going over a bump with the wheels turned, and normally the outside wheel.

I would not be surprised if the wishbone bushes are pushed out or shot, I'm pretty sure at least one of mine is worn. But I drive crappy roads at high speeds.
