Workshop Manual - What Do People Use?

Hi, I,m new to A2,s (1wk old)

Why is there no Haynes Manual? Did they think it was so good that it would not need fixing?

Mine certainly needs a manual, but it is 10yrs old now and needs a few fixes.

Would be great to hear from people on what they use as a manual for general maintenance such as oil change, filter changes, spark plugs, tyre pressures etc.

Unfortunately I did not get a Users Manual with my purchase :(

Comments appreciated!

Thanks,

Hound.

Good evening and welcome to the A2OC!

Congratulations on the last car you'll ever need!

In the question on workshop manuals, Haynes and the like.. I'm sure Spike or Skipton will be able to point you in the direction (however, Skipton uses his higher mental dexterity to assimilate the entire assembly guides).

As for the general manual, take a look Here

ETKA for parts,Part numbers and nice exploded diagrams.
ElsaWin for the manual and servicing.
VAG.com for computer stuff.

All the above are all computer programs that run on most flavors of Windows. Most importantly they are the same software your local dealer will use.

All these programs are supposedly for dealers only!

All of the above are available to you by a couple of avenues, ie eBay and Torrents.

Just an extra word though, don't think the eBay sellers of ElsaWin/ETKA are selling you a legal copy of the software! AFAIK, there is no proper and legal way to acquire these software at those cheap prices and not being a dealer/workshop. All you're paying is someone to download the bit torrent (widely and easily accessible), burn it to DVD and ship to you.

You can however, access (not obtain) the official workshop manual (not the parts) online via this link https://erwin.audi.com/erwin/showHome.do. It is not free but it is a legitimate avenue.
