Would this write off an A2 ?

A pillar damage.

Whoa! Why is it always an Audi driver lol.:oops::oops:
Hopefully no one hurt and you gets your alu sorted.✌?

There are two questions here: is it a write-off: yep. By time a repair is done 'to the book' you'd be painting a wing, the entire A-pillar and blending that out along the cant rail. The wing would have to be blended out as well: poss door and bonnet.

Is it cheaply, safely and effectively repairable? Assuming the screen hasn't cracked, the door behaves as it did and the wing gaps are fine all round, yes, absolutely. A dent-bloke repair to the pillar, bit of sympathetic paint and off you go again. Before starting work though I'd want a quick suspension alignment done: I'm guessing the amorous Audi had rolled onto the A2 from the left of the picture? That surely must have been quite an impact despite what the slight A-pillar damage might suggest.

As above though, deffo avoid the insurance co's if a repair is desired.

Apparantly the A3 was being driven by an 80 year old woman.

If it checks out ok and is repairable would be a godsend for the owner as he's fitted recently ish?, double din, satnav, bose etc. Would be a real shame if it gets written off, i hope not.

Can't believe we're discussing my car without me being here :D

Yeah old lady, somehow lost control and parked on my pride and joy. She shouldn't have been driving tbh, her husband died 2 weeks ago, she just buried him and she hasn't driven for ages as he always drove. She was a right mess emotionally.

As for the car, I'll keep you updated. :(

It’s an easy repair from the looks of it but as stated above check the panel gaps and door operation

If all well when they write it off but it back and repair it

I thought I recognised the name and emblem from the old tyresmoke days?

Rotten luck and hopefully fixable without too much hassle.

Yeah that be me. I had to change the avatar because of complaints so the running girl was consigned to the history books.

:)

So by way of update, the car has been out today around the block. Steering wheel is about 90deg out of straight, something in the front has broken suspension wise as now knocks very badly under acceleration / deceleration and couple of new lights on the dash illuminate as you go around a corner - traction control and ESP, but only on RH down.

A look under the front is in order then ideally with the undertray removed
Track rod ends would be my starting point

Is there any play in the steering wheel. Or when you turn it does the road wheel immediately move on BOTH sides

There is a lot of play, the drivers side (which was hit) feels very vague whereas passenger side works immediately.

So either the track rad end has been broken in the impact or the steering rack

Most likely the track rod end which is a 15min job to change. Then get tracking reset
