Was nice to see a line of A2s (and a lovely S1) at Kimbo.
I was displaying one of my other cars elsewhere but wandered over for a chat on a couple of occasions. Unfortunately, both times the stand seemed deserted. Great to see a healthy number of local (ish?) A2s though. We will hopefully join you next year.
I was actually there with two other cars Darren (greedy!). One was a Clio 172 and the the other was a Clio V6. Was a great day, even managed to get under cover during the showers. Unlike 2015...
I'm sure I heard somewhere that the clio v6 was partly developed because Renault had got wind that Audi were developing an A2 3L.
I have heard this both ways, that which you suggest and also Audi got wind of the "3ltr Clio" and assumed that it meant 3l of fuel per 100km and so hastily developed a 3l of their own....
To be honest I don't think either is true. Renault have a long history with mid-engined hatchbacks and Audi would be very unlikely to develop an entirely new engine on a whiff of a rumour about what Renault were conceiving.
I like the urban legend so I'm sticking with it
Quite a difference to go from having a Clio V6 show car to a 1.4 petrol A2. What spurred that decision?
Its a good story though. Great car as well. Next year if your there i would love a look over your clio 3.0. Cheers mike
