The quest for the highest mileage A2 and the 200K Club

This is actually my third car with 200k+ on it. My Passat 130tdi estate had 285k when I sold it, and my ol' A5 coupe had 212k when it got written off

The A6 is heading that way also, although it's slow progress, currently on 186k.

It's not that uncommon, my 1986 coupe has 380,000 miles with no engine or gearbox work.

I always knew Audis are real quality cars and loved them since the first Quattro.

Every time I go to the local garage they go 'look... there's that car with 200k on it!' To the other punters. I think it's not unusual for good cars. I think it's astonishing for the majority.

I will change the intercooler on my No:3 very soon, getting fed up with limp mode. The one from my No:1 is ok, so it will go in when I have some time to do it. No:1 is waiting for the one from Timmus, together with some silicone hoses.

Regarding the anti vibration shaft chain, I had a good look at it on my first car when the oil sump was off for repair and it did not show any signs of wear (I know it's almost impossible to check only visually, but my car has a full service history-still not a guarantee). I have a spare engine that will slowly be checked and rebuilt to a very high standard and will be a stand by if anything goes wrong as I have decided to keep the little thing indefenately, it's so good to me.

Just coming up to 264,000miles an my 54 plate Tdi90- going strong, still on original turbo, clutch replaced at 115,000 just before I bought it, new wheel bearings all round last year, alternator overhauled at 180k. Best car I've had!

Mine just hit 89,000 this afternoon, so a very long way to go...and it's going like a thing possessed with the new exhaust!
