GDW towbar pics please

Anyone have a GDW towbar? I'd be grateful for pics of the removable hitch. Having some issues getting hold of the T30 hitch so knowing what it looks like will help.

Morning. Will an Audi one fit as I have one spare?
I don't believe so (GDW hitch is a square) though thank you for the thought. I'm currently looking at the possibility of changing the 'receptor' and hitch as it may be possible.

Seller has promised to get me the hitch though I'm running low on time.

The gdw kit is still available afaik. Can you not order the part separately?

The Audi item is square also btw.

That does look quite different, I couldn't see the photo's before as for some reason Tapatalk shows them all as broken links.

Just fitted one yesterday, very good bit of kit. I ordered it from rameder.eu , was around €390 (including the €10 euros off they give for joining their news letter). So £342 for everything needed to convert from no towbar.

We have a towbar, yay. No thanks to the previous owner though with time and help here. Turns out the gdw removable hitch and receiver are used by various towbar manufacturers. My 'new' one is identical to the one photod by steaman though carries PCT branding. Now stripped, cleaned and lubricated and locking/unlocking smoothly...

And tested too, trailer followed us 'all' the way to and from the Trossachs this weekend. The midges didn't follow us home though had their fill most of the weekend. :)

Was that £342 including postage? I was looking on eBay for one as I shall be purchasing his month or next

Yes I did. 333 euro delivered with towbar and elektrokit, but without 19% german tax.

No special tools; just basics.

What takes time is the disassembly; the towbar is easy once access, used more time to route the elektrokit.

£267 here:

Installed the towbar today together with the Eric Jaeger A2 elektrokit.

Can you remember what electric kit you ordered? I’ve ordered fitted the towbar from Aukup along with then electrics, after reading through the instructions for the Erich Jaeger 736650 it says not for vehicles with data bus systems & not for Audi but this was the kit suggested with the tow bar???

Before I go any further I want to make sure I am fitting the correct kit or do I need to exchange

Thanks

Mart

Ordered the elektrokit from Aukup as well; article 748972300013 which is the EJ kit 748972.

If you have DIS you need an additional EJ kit for the lamp monitoring. If you have half-display, as I do, you do not need anything more.

That’s great thanks, I’ll try and contact them in the week. Is that kit for a 13 pin tow bar and is it vehicle specific or universal, I can find the kit but no information to go with it.

My trailer has a 7 pin connector so wanted a 7 pin if possible

Thats A2 specific kit; 13 pins.

As my trailer is 7 pins, I just use an £3 adapter.

Thanks for all your help Olerype, greatly appreciated!!!

Ok just spoke to them & their sending me an email to return the incorrect kit. With the A2 specific kit, is this then simply a case of plug and play? Does it come with different connectors or am I missing something?

Yes; all wires are precut and correct length. There are connectors that match the rear lights connectors, so you just connect to L+R in order to branch of to your trailer. Power is taken directly from battery by separate fused wire.
