Go with @DJ 190 (VHB Tape) then, just as neat as a frame, and no holes, just a steady hand!Agreed, I just don't like frames round them

I wonder how subtle the GB sticker could be too.You are correct about the sticker but not about EU number plates:
Displaying number plates
How to display number or licence plates, get plates made up, replace lost, damaged or stolen plates, and the national letters, flags and symbols you can display.www.gov.uk
I shall be keeping my EU plates for when we shortly rejoin, once the people who voted leave discover the extent of the fraud committed against them!

Yes, just a bit of nonesense! It's already there for me. I'm considering writing a letter to my Brexit party MP about the pluses & minuses of Brexit for me. At the moment, about 200 minuses and 0 pluses!I wonder how subtle the GB sticker could be too.
So Brexit has caused all European policemen/gendarmes to become short sighted? Absolute bureaucratic nonesense, whoever is responsible!According to The AA:
The GB letters must be black on a white, elliptical background. They must be at least 80mm high with a stroke width of 10mm.

That works for the front number plate but not the rear ..... You do need a frame for the rear and because there's lots of space at that location, then it really does improve the appearance! As other members may be aware, my rear number plate is reflective but is also uniformly back-lit! I've used a special material developed by "3M" and which was first used on the TVR "Chimera" sports car. My project is on the Forum. ...it is if not to take into consideration that a blue EU badge on the number plate looks so nice with my dolphin-grey freshly resprayed A2!!!I know.. I'm so gutted, I love holidaying and travelling in Europe, without wishing to provoke a political discussion I'm so disappointed that Brexit is happening, disastrous for this country.
This'll sound silly possibly but rather than leap into it I thought I'd ask first.
I have ordered replacement number plates, cleaner less fussy ones and thought I should ask about tools needed, tips and tricks etc... to getting the old ones off and the new ones on... help appreciated.
Spot on. Clean and pure ?Ok, swapped them out, self tappers at the front, 3M stickies at the rear.
I’ve kept the old surrounds just in case, however I think it looks much cleaner without.

That's a pretty good job you've accomplished, there! I seem to remember that the rear plate couldn't sit flush because there were two pairs of raised mounting "turrets" stopping that happening? Did you grind them off? That would be a simple solution and achieves a smooth flat plate .... just like in your photo! Well done!Ok, swapped them out, self tappers at the front, 3M stickies at the rear.
