Today I.....

Quantum which is the VAG OEM oil in mine. As used by Audi workshops. The oil separator is, considering it's been undisturbed in about 20 years, and quite a few miles, is not bad at all. Previous services at Audi would have used Quantum.
Quantum used to be made by Castrol, but, since 2018, it's made by Fuchs UK.

Aral Hight Tronic is synthetic. Aral are not in UK, but are very big in Europe, especially Germany, where they are based.

Morning all,

Today I… Had a package arrive from a fellow member (thank you very much) which coincided with a recent donation to @A2Steve.

Here’s the specific thread but to save time, this is the outcome after 90 minutes of tinkering:

Sustained a few cuts and grazes but totally worth it. Very happy with the improved safety when the need arises and I personally think the A2 wears front fogs quite nicely.

Needs a deep clean now!

Kind regards,

Tom

Perfectly normal Alan, perfectly normal. See you at OCD-Anonymous next Tuesday as per usual. 😉

Is this a sign of OCD? Does anyone else clean and polish under the bonnet?
PS It's not full blown OCD as I don't use a toothbrush to get into all the nooks and crannies or remove the sound absorbing material.

Here are some more pics. As I said in another post, cleaning the car has both satisfaction and despondency when seeing all the chips and fine scratches. But I tell myself, for a 18 year old car it is in fine fettle compared to cars I first had in the 70s that after ten years were eaten by rust, faded and looking shabby inside.

Today I started recreating the service record for my A2 (the second owner had quite deliberately stolen the original) after getting an entirely blank original booklet of the correct year

I was particularly pleased with how the sticker with the options code turned out, given that I had to rely on a somewhat mildewed original in the boot as the main source.

Edit: In light of an inappropriate response, I have now removed the image that originally accompanied this post.

Nice work Steve. Mmmmm, if I read those codes right, that's Cobalt Blue and a Twist interior with the Satellite upgrade fabric on the seats, a gorgeous combination :)

Cobalt blue and the Twist interior are spot on; but I'm not too sure about the Satellite upgrade fabric, my seats are leather. Still a fabulous combination though.

I certainly is - I was there too at one point, but it wasn't the original interior, and there was still plenty of Soul black in it. Still learning some of the codes - thanks for the assist 👍

Today, I was looking at the build codes that are useful in determining OEM part numbers for some of the brake and suspension components.
