The Definitive Alloy Wheel Picture thread (Alloys)

If you remove them I think you will find that one set are original Audi, probably Ronal, and the other set aftermarket.

I think you’re right.. the one with the continuous ridge seems to be original, but the other ones do look good too!

Both cars are original Sport spec, so at some point the aftermarket wheels (which I’ve never had any problem with) must have been swapped in.

From my experience of original wheels like this, they are prone to bending on potholes.
I would suggest the aftermarket wheels may well be stronger!

Can not vouch for your wheels but I run RS4 replica 9 spokes 17" and they are dual PCD. They are bomb proof.

205/50/16 although oversized work well.

Ideally you don't want to go narrower than 205 as the 16" TT rims are 7j wide rims.

You could also consider 205/45/16 or 215/45/16 off the A1.

Which TT wheels are you using 5 or 7 spoke?

The 7 spoke Ronal's look good on the A2 but the 5 spoke Speedline's are quite a bit lighter

I have 185/50 nexens on my BBS RX 7" width and it is stretched just a little, nothing major...

I am running 215/45x16 Nokian Hakka Blue2 tires on the Audi A1 16" 10 spoke wheels.
They are 7" width with ET 34mm, and I have no scrubbing issues.
Regarding scubbing/clearance with larger width tires, it may be a little different for your FSI, as mine is the S-Line model which I am told has slightly stiffer suspension and is lowered 10mm from the standard FSI.
BTW, the tires are very impressive and give a slot-car/go-cart feeling via the level of grip on the road (and they excel in wet conditions).

Any opinions on this 15" bbs wheel?

ET43 6.5J so would probably run with 15mm hubcentric spacers and 195/65s.

Might looks good powdercoated a dark anthricite.

Nice looking but I think they will look too small being a 15. Go back to post 422 on this thread and there’s a picture from ‘Bigbang’ showing his 16 inch BBS’s on an A2.

Currently running 15"s as 32 miles of bad country roads each way for my commute, so the 15s are a requirement to keep my teeth!

I actually have a set of these stashed away somewhere, from the Golf mk3/Corrado I believe.
You could use 5, 10 or 15mm spacers depending on the look you're after but 195/65/15 tyres are too big for the A2 as they will rub.
If you want to go 195 for the extra width a 55 profile would be the norm and a 60 profile would be the max. 185/60/15 would also be fine although some have used 185/65 I believe but that is right on the limit and could cause problems so not worth the risk imho 👍
