BMW relies on the second hand value to maintain the fleet sales - and with volumes rising (more 3 series sold last year than Mondeos) they will soon find that demand for 2-3 year old cars is met and the second hand prices start to fall as everyone who will pay for the badge will have done so and those who buy on price won't buy a BMW. At that point they will have to start discounting for fleet buyers to maintain the lease cost or the monthly charges go through the roof (this is what Ford and Vauxhall have to do). I would not want to be the owner of a BMW when this happens - but then I may be wrong.
