100,000 miles, and still going...

...probably tempting fate, but I thought I'd give you a quick run down of the good and bad points after 100,000 miles came round.

Car is an 1.4TDi SE, 02 reg June, so is nearly 4 years old.

It is a reliable and trusty workhorse, having never broken down.
Tyre wear is 50,000 miles, Dunny SP9000's, moved to goodyear F1's so I'll report back later on the wear of these!

Warranty Parts:
So far my warranty replaced parts have been:
Rocker cover gasket
Sump gasket
Climate control box
Alarm (not sure what,,, but it just stopped one night)
Glove box (just to do the light!)
Rubber door seals (front, deformed by roof bars, me thinks!)
New screws on the rear number plate lights ;-)
Quite a few visits to get tracking and alignment set correctly

In addition to this lot, has been the windows!
I've had around 8 visits to have the windows fixed, relays, switched, motors... you name it we've had it, and I must say, it's still not fixed... however, I've come to the conclusion I can live with the [occasionally up and down] windows. Although I shouldn't have to.

Non warranty parts:
Roll bar, and new bushes
Front discs and pads.
Cambelt, tensioner and gubbins.
Me thinks this is pretty good for nearly 4 years!

Servicing:
We've had 3 services, around the 30-31k mark, usually after a service a week later the estimated next service is 32,xxx miles, after the 3rd service it took longer but still managed 30,xxxx.

Economy:
Typically just 60mpg.
Mainly motorway 90-100 miles a day.

I'm going to try and keep it and get another 100k on it if possible.

I'm curious to know if there are any other big mileage A2's out there?

bba.

Congratulations BBA on your momentous acheivement
good luck ,fingers crossed for the Next 100k........

I've got 110,000 miles on my 02 reg 1.4, the only major problem i've had is an inlet manifold pressure sensor go leaving my stranded near a pikey encampment on the a414

104,000 mi
3 VSI services, last one included change of temperature sensor, and that's the only thing ever to have gone wrong with it.
66 mpg average (75 mi motorway commute)
I'm also aiming for 200k.. can't think of another car I'd want

1st March 2003 A2 TDi Sport, just done 121K,

Not too bad, front suspension well worn and drivers seat not too good looking.

I want to do 250K in it!

andy

congrats, think you may have the highest mileage...?
It's going to be a contest for the big 250, I'm on 112,000 and determined to keep it until I've clocked up the miles.

This last week I've just noticed a squeak or two, possibly suspension or something in the door rattling... now it's driving me mad.

My seat still looks like the day I bought it, it's worn really well.

I'm sure these lumps can do 250k
