Hi all,
Engine management and limp home mode again tonight a quick scan reveals:
16407 - Bank 2: Camshaft B (Exhaust): Position Actuator Malfunction
P0023 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
Ironically a quick Google brought up my own thread from well over a year ago! (http://www.a2oc.net/forum/showthread.php?19260-1-4-petrol-wouldn-t-start-yesterday). Incidentally I have noticed slightly 'slower' starting recently...
As discussed in there it's a rather anomalous reading for this engine, although not unheard of, apparently. I'm thinking it's a cam belt/sensor issue... VW forums suggest tensioner, which is strange as the whole kit was replaced last year. With that in mind, should I be paying that particular garage a visit to complain?
Cheers
Edit: have ordered a new OEM camshaft position sensor anyway (part number 036 907 601 C if anyone needs it) as I reckon it fits the symptoms.... will report back if unsuccessful...
