Hi guys and gals,

First post here :) I recently graduated from university, and such have had the time to actually sort out my driving licence. I will hopefully pass in Nov, and as such am looking out for my first car.

Having age and a little financial security job wise, I have decided to forgo the crappy hatchback option and make sure my first car is something a bit special, whilst still being affordable and reliable.

I've always liked the quirky looks of the A2 since they appeared, and am seriously considering getting one,as I'm fast falling in love before even driving it!

So, i guess im after any useful tips when looking for an A2, i guess my budget is about £5500, am i likely to get a good example older (00-01) A2 for this amount?

Also, wondering whether to go 1.4 petrol or 1.4 diesel, any bigger engine is out of the window due to insurance costs :S

thanks in advance :)

Hi S, welcome to the A2oc
The petrol v diesel debate is always a hot subject and the best advice is probably to drive both models then decide for yourself. One of the many threads from the archives is attached as a starting point. Check out the others by doing as search for 'petrol diesel' (without the quotes)

We also have three model year A2 brochures in the forum if your interested
