A2 Number Plate Surrounds

Returned home from holiday today to find my parcel waiting for me. Really pleased with them.

Thank you so much Tom, for all your hard work, and the meticulous packaging: you have selected a quality product.

OK guys, how do I order them? I thought I read somewhere that they were handed over at the Welsh social.

I didn't order initially as I had just fitted new plates using double sided sticky pads. But despite using double the recommended number the front plate keeps popping off at one end. I should have pre-curved it :(

Any suggestions for getting these sticky pads off? My limited experience is that they crumble to pieces.

If you PM Teresa she shold be able to help you as our new merchandise lady. These are still to be added to the site store, and will also be available at ADI and the end of year Curry as well

Hi everyone. Yes, I now have the remainder of the number plate surrounds. I am going to have a go at adding them to the store (haven't done that before so it's a bit of a learning curve) tonight, but in the meantime, please just message me if you would like them (I have put a set aside for Alan)

Cheers Teresa

Both my front and rear number plates are attached using sticky pads.

I would like to screw my new A2OC plate surrounds (I don't really know why). Can anyone please recommend the screws/bolts I should use?

Many thanks, Andrew

Thanks 2work for the drop off in Newark last week, used the self-tapper from the old surround and all lined nicely.
Next job will be new plates as mine are fading, will be east swap.

Hi,

I thought I would just try a red "Sharpie" and colour in the same parts of the logo that are red.

Not everyone's cup of tea I am sure but this is what the before and after looks like.

I am not sure how well the colour will last but it is two minutes to redo the colour bits if it fades (but a sharpie is meant to be permanent)
You could also use a modelling paint instead if you want.

Yet another demonstration of personalisation; nice touch Steve. An observation that it is the 'OC' in the logo that is red, not the A2, not that it overly matters and with the logo flipped the red is in the correct position. I'd be tempted to just do the logo leaving the lettering white. A good idea mind.

Cheers.

Yes I can see what you mean
But the logo is reversed on the left one and so the red letters would look as if they were in an odd position.
So I deliberately coloured in the two letters that are on the front of the car.

That way the left left and right logos match better (in my view)

but each to their own.

Hi. Mine arrived today. Looks great. Can someone explain how the bottom edge folds down please. I can see it pivots but each end is locked. I don't want to break it experimenting!

It just pulls down if you are firm with it. It pivots down then you just press it back into place firmly and it clicks into position.

Thanks guys. Video very useful, reminds me to remove the tool but then where to leave it so it wont be lost! With the tool kit I think.

Edit: I've no tool - not the end of the world.

Sorry Alan, I typed up some instructions to put in with them and forgot to put it in your package in my "how much bubble wrap do I need" confusion.

I must admit that I just clipped the bottom bit off. Put the number plate in and clipped it back on. I'm going to look at the video to see what other ways of doing it there are!
So glad they turned up ok

I just looked at the instructions - my way is much easier and no tool required :)
