Air con issues

Hi Guys any one had issues with their air con working when moving (getting fresh air in through the vents in motion) and not working when stationery? The blower also smells of old feet so I just ran air con cleaner through the system-hopefully that may cure it.

An air con specialist serviced my air con today and a fault came up on my system stating Evaporator exit air temp sender open/short circuit to positive.
In all honesty he was unsure about it. He said it’s either the fan or a sensor in the evaporator unit
Does anyone have any ideas?? Any help as alwys guys would be very much appreciated!!

Cheers
Duane

I can't comment on the sensor. But have you changed your pollen filter?
It is not changed by Audi in the service. I changed mine and it was black:eek:
The air in the car was deff more fresh after changing.

Had to replace the G263 evapourator outlet temp sensor on my car and it requires removal of the dashboard for access. We think it may be possible to test the sensor without removal by checking the wiring at the climate control panel.....I'll try and find the related post for you......... found it -

Spike has the best links, as always! I would definitely suggest you test the sensor using the wiring diagrams before thinking about replacing it. I did it and it wasn't even faulty!

Thanks for your indpeth replies guys really kind of you. It may sound like a lot of work, I'll check the diagram and if I do have to remove the dash I think its not worth it to have AC working proerly!! Will also check the pollen filter first.

Will elt you know, have a great weekend!

best of luck, but it was certainly worth having it working. It is a good automatic climate control, not just an AC or other so-called climate controls. I don't switch it off at all, the AC is always on (except when it is forced off at below 5C). Keeps the cabin cool/warm and dry, but more importantly, the AC takes out the moisture when it is wet, I rarely need the de-mister blower.
