Air filter replacement

Hi gang
Just had my car re-mapped - during the mapping they mentioned my air filter looked like it needed replacement. I have a 1.4TDi

Two questions:

1. what's the best air filter to get/ part number/ costs/ supplier?
2. how do I take the bonnet off so I can change it myself?!

Bit of a strange one this as unless the remappers have noticed a low airflow in software, there's no way they could have merely noticed that the air filter is blocked.

You don't even need to remove the bonnet to change the filter, but should remove the undertray and then the filter cover, which is below the offside headlight.

K&N make good replacements, or you can just get another paper one from a variety of manufacturers.

Cheers,

Mike

Where's the airbox then, surprised it's underneath?!
How do you remove the undertray?

Is the K&N A2 specific, or is it the same airbox as for a range of VAG cars? Sorry for the barrage of questions.

The airbox is under the offside headlamp and the undertray is held on by a load of torx screws and a couple of 10mm bolts.

Like most things on the A2, the airbox (and hence the air filter) is specific to this car!

Cheers,

Mike
