arming alarm indicator lights not flashing

Hi folks. Over the past few weeks i have noticed when locking the car the indicator lights some times flash but now have stoped flashing altogether,the doors lock ok,and led flashes,any thought on what i can do to get them working again.....cheers

Difficult to say really without running a diagnostics. It would normally indicate that a door/boot is open which you are aware of. Not sure if there is a switch on the service flap/bonnet or fuel flap? As a matter of interest do the interior lights work when each door is opened?
 
I sometimes have this problem and find the solution (with my car, anyway!) is to take the bonnet off and replace it. I think the switch which is pressed when the bonnet is in place is slightly grubby. Perhaps your car is suffering from the same thing...?

...to my knowledge the car has no way of 'knowing' whether the service flap is open or not.
 
Have you got the beep enabled when you lock the car?

I locked the car once and I thought all the doors were shut properly, but one of the doors was not shut properly so the beep did not go off. So I went back and shut the door. The beep then went off.

So it is easy to think the doors are shut and they are not. If the service flap is not shut properly it will not lock properly. If the service flap is open it is very easy to nick your bonnet. I do beleve somene had there's stolen from a car park for scrap:mad::eek:

Thanks folks,noticed this morning it was working,it was cold outside 3C,but as i drove to work and the car heated up inside the hazard lights would not work and when i locked it,same problem again....didnt flash,could it be the indicator unit as i think it is located behind air con.....maybe when it warms up it messing with it. I will go and try the bonnet maybe dirt on sensor,tried the service flap....seemed ok.
 
looks like its the hazard relay,just got one for £28,but not sure how to fit it...does the stereo need to come out??
Can anyone help.seen a post on here how to do it,but my A2 is 2002 se,think its different to the 98 TDI......:mad:
