I mentioned this when i wa slooking at an ex-demo car but i believe if memory serve me correctly it £2,800 in parts and 8 hours labour, so it is do able but not very economical.
It can be retrofitted, but fitting an aftermarket solution is easier and cheaper, for example if you want to retrofit an Audi NavigationPlus (the one with the colour screen) and you don´t have a Symphony radio, the climate control unit has to be swapped for another one and you might need a new center console, in addition to the costs for the unit itself.
