My boot lamp doesn't work - any one have any ideas as to a likely cause? ...and yes, it's not the bulb (that would be too easy!)

We've got/had/still have the same problem, I took it apart and wiggled the bulb and connecting wires and it started to work....for about a week, after the forth try I gave up and left it.....over recient weeks it seems to be working again....strange!
Might get Audi to look at it just before the warrenty runs out...

I had the same problem about a year ago and it turned out to be a faulty boot switch - this was replaced under warranty and the first service.

Yip I had the same... it is the switch. To test open the boot only with your fob (using the middle button). If the switch is working your indicators will flash when you close the boot again. If they don't the switch is bust. So in effect the car now does not even know when the boot gets opened. So the alarm stays armed and if you spend too much time in there the alarm will go off as well!!!

Great info - anybody changed this switch themselves, or is it a dealer job?
Had mine done by the dealer under warranty... so no idea how it works or where it sits...
