Boot lights...

From time to time, when I open the boot door the lights doesn't go on!! Only after some seconds (10 - 50!! seconds). The computer also reported at the diagnose this problem. After the Audi Service reseted the fault the lights on every time until... YESTERDAY!!!!! What to do? Who doesn't let my light to turn on?

The switch in the door latch mechanism has gone. It is a known problem with A2s and quite a few people on here have had to have it replaced (including me). When the switch is gone the car does not "know" the boot is open and A does not switch the light on and B does not switch the alarm off if you open the boot only from the fob. So after a while the alarm will sound (unless you unlocked all the doors of course).

But how the computer knows that the hatch is open and the light is off? Because on the console I see the boot dor open and the light is off!!! Preaty nasty...

hmmm... that puts a different slant on it... with the sensor gone the console on the dash would not show the hatch as being open... Interesting conundrum.

Its still the boot lock..

Ours did the exact same thing, had to drag the services man to the A2 to show him, he agreed its not suppose to do that.

Was fixed (replaced under warranty) at the first MOT.

I think they replaced the bit that sticks out of the boot lid...
