We were lucky enough to have tickets for qualifying on Saturday and grandstand seats on the Hangar Straight yesterday. It's the first time either of us has been to a grand prix and the first thing that hits you is the noise of the cars - absolutely awesome and deafening. You hear the scream of the engines on TV but what you don't hear are the pops and bangs during downshifts and braking.

As we were on the Hangar Straight, we saw loads of action - including the Irish Idiot unfortunately. Loads of passing, both Williams and Raikkonen almost losing it, the Jag blowing up. All in all, a very good day out - just thankful the tickets were a present outherwise I'd be filing for bankruptcy now.

Don't drink drive! Not only is it socially unaceptable, it also harms A2's.

New A2 on order - Ebony Black, Red Leather + many other options.

I've always been of the school of thought that why pay hundreds to see a small part of what you see on TV, but then what you say is what its really all about-the atmosphere.

I wonder if its cheaper to pay for a cheap euro flight and go to somewhere like Spain/Germany to watch it. Probably is.

Let's have next years social at a GP!.

Steve - 2002 1.4SE petrol, Silver, black/black interior, Then an identical replacement 2003 A2. Now a Toyota Corolla 1.6 T-Spirit

Whoa-£200, £100 for a Travel Inn for two nights, food during the day (which I expect runs at £3 for a limp burger!). That is some cost.

Cheaper to hire a helecopter for the days events!!!

Actually it was £4 for a stale bacon roll. We had a list of travel inns etc in the area & their prices over the weekend - talk about profiteering. We are lucky to have relatives about 40 miles away.

As for the helicopters, it was like a scene out of Apocolype Now at times. At one point, I counted 15 in the air at once. Sod being an air traffic controller.
