News Burnt out A2 at Brecon

Just had pictures sent of a burnt out A2 today at Brecon.

I hope all got out safely?

Not a member on here I hope (not sure that is a nice thing to say, but you know what I mean.

After enquiring about the occupants, my next thought was "Convertible A2?"

If you look at the road profile it's in a lay-by or similar. So in my opinion it's probably been stolen and torched by thrill seekers as opposed to an accident. Every day occurrence unfortunately but for obvious reasons it'll be a comparitive rarity for an A2 to fall victim. Ach whit a shame.

Yes,

Chances are it was a fuel leak or something?
By the look of it.

Theyve also missed an "N" from the reg no. Should it not read "C11NAFF".

It's plastic Mo so the front will melt fairly quickly in a fully involved car fire.

This would be a good project rather than convertible.

Cant believe its actually melted the frame of the car. What on earth did they pour on it to get it to burn that hot? Its not that far from me.

Aluminium melts at 463 - 671 centigrade whereas steel melts at 1425 - 1540 centigrade

I also read that "... difference between aluminum and steel is that aluminum looses its strength at a much lower temperature, meaning that an aluminum vehicle that has burnt will generally collapse."
