A2 written off in December 04. Bought a new Citroen C3 two weeks ago, having been on order for 7 weeks (I wanted black with the glass roof/sunroof - none in country). In the meantime I've been surviving on courtesy cars from insurer and a loan car from the Citroen dealer for 7 weeks who offered this in order to clinch the deal. The C3 is a 1.4 Hdi Sensodrive and so far, it's great.
After the A2 I still wanted the economy of a diesel but an automatic again (or semi-automatic). Didn't test drive the car before I bought it as there were none at any dealers, but it's great. Paddles seem far more responsive than those used by Smart (I owned two Smart Coupes) although it does sometimes hesitate if you slow down going round a corner in first, before it picks up again.
Good spec for the money inc. climate control, automatic wipers, CD etc., and got £2200 cash back from dealer in a promotion. In all, a lot of car for your money (but no alloys as std).
Handling and economy very good - despite low mileage, and seems comfortable. Also, with the Hdi engine you don't need to wait for the glowplugs to heat up. Just turn over the engine from cold and it fires right away.
Down side is the quality of the plastics - which can't match Audi by any stretch of the imagination.
Do I miss the A2? A bit, but so far the C3 is just as much fun, as quick and as economic - and in my view, just as great a shape (although someone did say that the car looked 'chubby'...)
I've been on the C3 forum and there are the usual tales of woe etc., Let's hope I don't have to join them...
