Has anyone here painted their brake calipers or drums?

I wouldnt mind painting my front and rear calipers, but dont want it looking to chavy/tacky just nice and clean looking.

Whats your thoughts on this?

Hi

Many A2 owners will agree that the rear drums will need a coat of paint to stop them looking rusty through the 17 sport wheels. I painted mine with smooth Hammerite satin black, dead easy and only took a few hours to sort out. I will at some point sort the front calipers with the same. You don't really need heat proof paint, but its up to you..

Think it depends on the look you want - Red or Blue calipers can add a subtle touch- the TT Shop do some Audi Rings decals for the calipers which again could just add that finishing touch.

Its easy enough to do and as mentioned smoth hammerite can do the job. Last tiem I did mine I did use head proof paint - dismounted the calipers so I could get around them, wire brush and sandpaper to get rid of all the debris and then 3 coats to give a good coverage, dried over night in the garage.
