Cambelt - Will TDI 75 bend valves when broken

I've come to 60K on a 51 plate and took of the top cambelt cover to have a look and the belt doesn't seme that bad. Is the 75 TDI engine of such high compression that if it breaks then the engine will be in a bad state ie valves bent etc ?
If that's so I'll get it done ASAP... I saw stafford Audi doing it for around 250 if you mention Ebay but contact them direct. Living in Essex would tbe too far for me so any other offers for cambelt service please let me know.

Stafford too far?

I have had great service from Audi Stafford with both a belt change, and later a variable service, on my 1.6FSi.
I quoted Stafford's price to the local Audi agent, but they could get nowhere near. I did the round trip in a day the first time, then arranged an extra day on my holiday for the variable service on the return trip from northern England (Innkeeper's Lodge do some cheap deals). I live in N Kent, and they have had people travel up from Brighton. Depends how you cost your time.
