car mats & cam belt

hello to everyone,have just joined your club and a first a2 to go as well,it has 120000 miles on the clock,its a 1.4 tdi but dealer does not know when cam belt was fitted last,my question is after how many miles should one be fitted,also it has no car mats and the carpet is beige so l would like to fit some soonest all comments apprieciated.zipp52

Hello zipp52 and welcome.

First, the bad news - the cambelt on your car should be done every 60 - 80 thousand miles, so the second change should be done very soon.

Take a look at the cambelt and see if it's already been done (i.e. does it look new?).

As for mats, go and see your local Audi dealer - the original mats are the best and are £40 per pair (front or rear).

Hi Zipp52,

There is a sticker on the underside of my beige mats which says

Teile-Nummer: 8Z2 863 714,92J.

I assume this is the part number for beige mats.

If your water pump has not been done, then it may be wise to get it done too. If the belt is the original one, you have been very lucky to get this far. Get it done without delay!
