When some lousy scrote, sorry, disadvantaged young chap, decided to steal the contents of my A2, of which there were none, he broke the passenger window glass (and damaged the frame). Unfortunately he was not traced so it was impossible to offer him a foreign holiday etc... but I digress.
Mr Autoglass turned out to do the job outside my house, but after removing the door trim,by normal methods they were unable to proceed because they didn't know how, so it was off to the depot. I watched them do it and it was a complete door strip down. They received the instructions from their HO, and it all looked very straight forward to me. It was a Sunday, so I was with the fitters as they did it, not peering through the "viewing area". Laborious, but nothing to tax the skills of a methodical person. If I were my normal fitness it would have presented no problems. So, pick a nice day, in the dry and fiddle away, it took them a couple of hours.
Incidentally if your window glass breaks the broken pieces remain at the bottom of the door forever, unless you take the door off, turn upside down (the door, not you) and shake vigorously. You guessed it, mine are still there, and no, I'm not going to drill holes in the bottom so they can fallout.
