clutch, exhausts, big parts

Hi all

My A2, will reach the 100k in a few months.
I was quickly pondering the replacement of clutch's exhausts, pump's etc.

Has anyone replaced any of the above yet?
If so how long did said items last and how much to replace?

Hi
I thought you may have received some comments from other high mileage owners but as not, here are a few suggestions:-
Clutches normally give adequate warning of impending failure so wait for any signs before replacement
Have the exhaust inspected for corrosion and integrity of the mounting brackets and rubbers. Only replace if necessary.
Consider replacing
(1) the water pump, belt tensioner and alternator belt when doing the cam belt change.
(2) Battery
(3) Tyre sealant canister (assuming you don't carry a spare wheel)
(4) Alternator brushes

Now wait for the barrage of letters disgreeing with my list!!!!!!

Cheers Spike

i've had the clutch and clutch fork changed on mine at 80k, an inlet manifold pressure sensor and an EGR valve at 93k, luckily the latter was all covered under warranty, it took them 4 days! to track the problem down
