Computer or Not?

Hi,

This is my first post as i have just bought an A2 today.

I was expecting to see a display saying MPG but I just get miles? Does this mean I do not have a full trip computer?

Love the car BTW....

you dont have DIS then, DIS gives you MPG, Avg MPG, Avg SPD, etc

Hi Col, Welcome to the A2oc
The DIS display, located between the speedo and rev counter also shows radio and CD info plus door and tailgate closure warnings - see attached link from our Gallery.

Never mind.... presume this cant be fitted as an extra? Also would this mean I could not buy the Cruise Control stick as the compter is not there?

Cruise control can be added as it is independent of DIS - all the functionality is contained in the ECU.

Just remember - it's not just a case of buying the new stalk. You need a new wiring loom to connect it to the ECU and then you need to turn on the cruise function in the ECU itself.

dis can be retrofitted (albeit with a fair amount of work and money) see the a4 forum on tyresmoke.net where someone on there did it

Yeah not too bothered about the DIS really.. would have been nice..

Still think the car is great..... will be getting cruise control sorted though..

Especially like the hijack control, I always locked my focus manually so its great not having to do it myself and remembering!!..
