Did anyone watch "We,re doomed ! - The Dads Army Story" on Beeb Two - its on again tonight. The problem about being a sad car buff is that you can spot certain mistakes. The first filming of Dads Army started in 1968.
There is a red VW Beetle car featured in which the screenwriter drives Arthur Lowe to the set. The registration number shows it to be "H" registered which was in fact a 1970 plate. Its wheels came off a special edition "Marathon beetle" which was only available in 1973 !.
