EGR Valve replacement

HI, can anyone tell me when I fit a new EGR valve tomorrow which has been diagnosed by Audi dealer in Guildford will the engine light automatically cancel and go out or do I need it to be cancelled via a diagnostics system ?

before you go changing the egr valve please check the heater pipe which is a little plastic pipe with a heating element mounted between crankcase and airfilter. This part normally becomes clogged and shorts blowing the fuse related to the egr valve giving the fault of a faulty egr please check as the dealers are not always right.
