Engine management light

The Engine management light came on whilst driving and started miss-firing. After getting the car home it now won't start at all. I've read that the coil packs are pretty poor but does that fact that it now won't start mean that it could be more serious than just the coil pack? Also, how far is too far to drive with the light on, damage to the cat etc?

i guess it depends on how many coils died...

if all the cylinders have bad coil packs then yeah it wont start...

mine just has 1 coil that died...

and i was told that i shouldn't drive it as the catalitic converter can get ruined....

sounds like everyone has this problem...
