Exterior Styling...thought the A2 deserved one

mmmmm im thinking not crome.....im only 18 i know i should warm to to crome but theres just somthing not right about it...
 
When I was younger - we had a woodwork teacher that had a Ford Cortina with these ultra glossy plastic chrome-effect wheels. He thought they were the bees-knees. We thought they were whack. I can't look at shiny wheels without thinking of his Cortina.

To Tall and Dubsy - there are only 2 sorts of wheel arch which cover all variants of the A2 in all countries.

Specifically, these are a slim arch for the A2 1.2 and a standard arch for ALL OTHER MODELS. Hope that clears the matter up - you got me browsing ETKA this morning looking for some bigger bits for my Tank!

BTW, Audi S2 mirrors will be fitted soon, hopefully in time for Castle Coombe (no you can't get 'em, it's another project).

Cheers Skipton - that's sorted that out. All these bespoke mods you're up to. That little black A2 is just getting cooler and cooler. Have you uploaded shots to a Photobucket type account so we can see more?

Hmmmm... Certainly unique. Photoshop/similar is great for trying out those new ideas. Are the S2 mirrors in chrome then?

Now I reckon that will look classy... Are you using the standard A2 mirrors or going with something else? Any more thoughts about that Audi logo high level brake light?

You are correct skipton...the fsi has got modified front arches, but they are in the form of little winglets under the front of the arch/bumper...as in the below pic, they are for all all 1.6 fsi models, for better aerodynamics appartly.

1.6 FSI Sport, DIS, Open Sky, 6 CD Symphony II, Auto Climate, rear electric windows, 8 speakers, front fogs.
 
Nope - can't see it from that photo. I'll have a closer look at the next FSi I see.

High level brake light idea hasn't progressed yet, but the front grille light in white is nearing completion.

Oh and yes, the S style mirrors will be using genuine A2 housings - no others fit unfortunatley.

Hi all, this topic has really exploded. Im getting tonnes of great ideas!whats the "flames" on the folder for?just wondering skip, how you going to crome your mirrors?Why do your mirrors look roundish?mine are more sharp and angled are they a sport mirror?have you seen dont you think chipping ur A2 is a tad risky? I looked into it an it doesnt seem cool?
 
Psst, Prime, Skipton's squished the roofline of his A2 from the bottom of the windows up, so the mirrors got squished too...

Skipton, are you getting the mirrors sprayed or dipped or other?

S-Line exterior?

Hello,

Picking up an pretty old thread...
I'm a new owner of an 1.2TDI in Sweden and I would like it to have the same S-Line exterior (front lower spoiler and rear diffusor) as my A4 S-line has. Does anybody know of any 3rd party that makes such?
 
Hi Ulfsve,

There are no 3rd party manufacturers who supp ly for the A2 now, only genuine Audi bodykits.

Take a look at Driveforward's excellent fitting guide for the bodykit, which shows all the steps from unpacking to final paint correction and detailing.
