g62 sensor issue

My G62 (Temperature) Sensor has gone on my A2, been told its a common fault.

Does anyone think its a good idea to buy the sensor on ebay?

Or pay £30 odd pound and go to the main Audi dealers?

G62 sensor

No prob with a replacement from e-bay - providing it is supplied with the seal.

The genuine Audi clip is metal and much better than an aftermarket plastic clip so try to retain your original to use.

The sensor is tricky to get to on the FSi engine - you need the hands of a gynaecologist and its a blind procedure. You need to be at the ready with a replacement to plug the hole and ensure you don't lose lots of coolant on the drive.

N.B. ElsaWin says to remove the EGR pipe to ease access but I did not find this to be helpful.
