Glad to hear you found a set Thomas!Late to the party, but mine broke as well. I have sourced the only one I could find from a scrapyard in Lithuania. It has just arrived today, it looks like you would expect an almost 20-year old part to look like. My mechanic is going to install it tomorrow, so fingers crossed. I would still like to express my interest in one if these can be sourced once again from AT.
Would it be to much to ask for if - as some kind of Christmas miracle - a stock is still hiding out there...
I'll write to AT tomorrow about cables.Any news on cables?
Excellent, also because it is almost the only spare part that can no longer be foundI'll write to AT tomorrow about cables.
Same article available on autodoc.I just clicked the audi.7zap.com link from Robin, and chased a part number link and it suggests the ends fittings are available on Aliexpress. Again, apologies if you have been round this loop.
Can someone with more knowledge than me, have a look?

Yes, these end bits seem to be readily available from a variety of aftermarket suppliers on various sale platforms. It is the paired cables themselves that are the issue.I just clicked the audi.7zap.com link from Robin, and chased a part number link and it suggests the ends fittings are available on Aliexpress. Could you post a photo of that rubber? I can't figure out which one it is.The actual cable is just one of many parts that make up the complete assembly.
In addition to the cable itself, there are several other parts that a cable manufacturer would not supply. They are VAG specific, as is the cable. Unless VAG will help, then design and manufacture of various adapters, to match available, (custom), cables to VAG mountings, and end fittingd is the only solution.
To give an example, the bush that secures the cable outer to the fixed bracket at the tower, and gearbox ends has an integral anti vibration rubber mount that isolates it from the engine/gearbox. Not easy to replicate.
Mac.
It's an internal part of the moulded "bush" You can't see it, unless you destroy it. It's not designed for disassembley.Could you post a photo of that rubber? I can't figure out which one it is.
Aaaaah now I understand. You're talking about spring clutches. On AliExpress there are ropes with supports too. If I can I'll post a photo. Maybe a change could be made. Here's one I destroyed a while back, when I was trying to find a solution.
