Gear Knob

Ok I have just bought a new gear knob (no gator) for my A2. I Lifted the gator over my current gear knob, removed the metal clasp, and pulled the gator + old gear knob (together) off the shaft.

My only problem now is that i need to fit my old gator (which has nothing wrong with it) to my new gear knob. The problem is that i dont know how to remove the gator from the old gear knob. Its a standard A2 one and i dont want to try my luck at what I 'think' is right because if i break it i need a new gator. Any help?

there is a plastic ring right under the gear knob shaft i think this has a locating lug / cut out that allows the gator to come off down the splines and onto your new knob just play about with it but as you aware be careful

I made it myself!( I have a lathe!) And I could make anotherone if I wanted to and had the time
I still have some Billard balls twice. But the No2 is sold
