Headlamp out warning on non DIS equipped cars?

On the road next to mine there lives another A2. I have seen the guy drive around a few times and his nearside front headlamps is out. I’m now wondering if he knows about this? On my DIS equipped car I get told the instant a bulb goes. Do non DIS cars tell you as well if a bulb went? Just wondering if I should tell the bloke or leave him be as he knows already!

Probably saving up before he goes in to the dealer to get the bulb changed!

Our non DIS A2 hasn't got anything telling the driver that a bulb has gone.

Yes but it is like when you need new glasses... you don't know how bad your eyes have become until you get the new pair or go for a test!

AND when you live in a place like London you hardly ever need the lights to see where you are going as there is soo much light. Living in the countryside you will perhaps notice the difference.

I told him this morning anyway and he was unaware.
