Headlight protection

Hi, I've sanded and polished my headlights and they came up good. I didn't do anything else to them just a final autoglym wax polish. They didn't last long before going faded again.

Can anyone recommend an easy to apply sealant for post refurb that lasts?

Not (yet) a recommendation, but I'm going to do this job myself soon and I've purchased Turtlewax 2 in 1 headlight cleaner & sealant. It's supposed to leave protection as you do the final polish. It remains to be seen if it actually works, so I'll report back (eventually).

Ceramic coat them. It will last 12-18 months between application.

I bought a tiny tester kit which is all you need for several goes. Didn’t cost much.

I got this a Sealey Headlight restoration kit of ebay for £12,

it comes with a Protection liquid, which I hope slows down degradation.

I haven`t tried it yet, waiting for a sunny day.

Although the headlights on our car are fine at present, I was wondering if there is something that I can do to prevent them from fading? Is it the sun that affects them or the heat from the headlight bulb or just a combination of the elements?

UV light does the colour changing to opaque to yellow. Oxidises the plastic. Scratches etc and traffic oil do the rest. THe best defence is a proper uv protecting lacquer top coat onto polished headlights/restored headlights. THen regular cleaning and light polishing.
