welcome!! you'll find a resource of helpful technical advice, good value parts, empathy (mechanical and personal) - and the occasional terrible joke - here all in one low-maintenance place. Clubs don't get much better than this . .Hello everyone.
Thanks for letting me join the family! I’ll no doubt be picking your brains on how to keep my beloved A2 on the road.
First up - the tyre and wheel thread. I’ll apologise now if I post in the wrong place. Sorry!
I agree! And as soon as I get a new camera phone I'll post the customary car pics ?Morning Sue!
Welcome aboard, hang on for the ride of your life!

new phone? Don't you have crayons?I agree! And as soon as I get a new camera phone I'll post the customary car pics ?
It may cost you some cash alright, but not as much as changing it for something newer would! So sorry, I should have added some customary photo’s and details about my A2 when I joined.
I bought my first A2 in 2009, a 54 plate, silver 1.4TDi 88Bhp, and loved it. Once it got over 120,000 miles, I traded it in for my current A2 in 2016, for a grey, 1.4TDi SE 73Bhp with 70,000 on the clock. It felt like an upgrade until I tried to overtake and realised I missed the poke of my previous car. Nonetheless, it’s being running well over the years but it’s now reached 166,000 miles. In all honesty, I was looking for a newer car after the New Year but nearly fainted at the prices of decent used cars. So, I decided to join this club, get some much needed advice and give this car the TLC it needs, along with a load of cash no doubt
So, just to prove I’m a woman on a mission, here’s my car before I joined the A2OC

And since joining, I’ve found out exactly what wheels and tyres I need for all year driving and comfort. I just got these wheels and tyres fitted today and can honestly say, I was smiling all the way home. What a difference! I have fallen in love with my car all over again. So much so, I’ve booked it in for a new timing belt, water pump and service next week.

My next bit of love may be a stage 1 map, not sure yet, I haven’t had time to read the modifications channel yet
I told you this was going to cost me some cash
Thanks. I'm with you, if I didn't think of it as an investment, I'd be crying by nowIt may cost you some cash alright, but not as much as changing it for something newer would!
Think of it as an investment into further cheap motoring. Congrats on such a lovely example - nice spec interior too!
Thanks Robin. I heard there was a place down south that specialise in A2 mapping (I'm presuming that's what a software-enhanced BHC), not sure if it would be worth the drive from up North. I'm sure there will be some good places nearer I could find.A software-enhanced BHC works a treat. I know that people who have a 90hp ATL in good nick say that they are better still due to the faster spool up, but the mid-range of my 75hp+ BHC is right there when you need it to for backroads and in town without ever risking the sound barrier. And - at least with the 75, you don't have the DMF or variable turbo to worry about.
As Steve mentioned Tom(Timmus) and Paul(Depronman) well worth a PM, both in Lancashire a bit nearer. Thanks Robin. I think you’ll be referring to Stealth motorsport based in Southam. There have been both positive and negative feedback on them in recent years however I’ve never used them. I have though used both @depronman and @timmus ’s services and can 100% recommend them. Thanks Robin. I can't comment on places down south, although both Paul and Tom who are linked to above in this thread are very capable of making your A2 better than it is at the moment on many levels. I have bought parts and 'enhancements' (wiper arms, OSS motor support, fuel filter screw, software), (cruise control install & colour DIS install) from both of them respectively and am very satisfied. Thanks Robin.
