I have a load of DVLA data and have analysed and produced from time to time on this forum.

My stats go to Sept 05 so they don't include the final run-out year.

Below is some model / year stats. The answer to your question is 19,000 + perhaps another 2,000 in the final year (given there was a price drop).

Note that the data is not 100% accurate - poor data quality checks I guess.

I have ask the DVLA for update stats but now they want £600 on the basis it's 3 days work. I sent them the extract code (which took me 30 mins to write) but they still said it would take 3 days because their system are not geared up for that sort of stuff (i.e. antiquated). Presumably when the police want a list of all "blue ford escorts with a 05 plate" for a murder investigation the DVLA says they will have to wait 3 days!

Hi Heidi, You're welcome. Good luck with persuading your husband. It's a great "little" car but a tardis inside. I easily fitted a fridge in mine yesterday and that was without removing the seats.

Don't take it abroad though! Rather more were sold there. In total 176,205 were sold (including the UK) according to a s/s I found on the internet. About the same sales p.a. as the A8 and TT.
