Hi,
Most people know that if you hold down the unlock button on the remote it will lower all of your windows and if you hold down the lock button on the remote it will close all windows.
This is a bit of a "Marmite" option, many people like it, but some people don't!
I like it because as you approach the car on a hot day you can open the windows as you get near the car.
BUT if you lay on the settee with the keys in your pocket you can easily open the windows of your car without knowing it.
On a wet day that would be a nightmare (not to mention an "open" invitation to a thief.)
So I have been asked to see if there is a way to disable this via VCDS and I THINK I have found a way.
If you have VCDS connected and the ignition on, select Central convenience unit from the control functions
Then click on "Coding"
NOW THIS IS IMPORTANT !!!!! Write down the number in the coding field because if you mess up you might want to go back to how it was.
To disable the remote window operation altogether, just take 64 away from the number that is displayed and then click on "do it" and exit.
Hey presto, no matter how long you hold down your unlock button the windows will no longer auto open.
Similarly you will not be able to auto close them via the remote afterwards.
It is surprising what you can find out if you have a dig arount this great little car.
I am now going to look for other interesting option!!! I don't think there are many but it is worth looking.
Cheers
