Had my first breakdown with the A2 this week (1.6FSI).
The engine light flickered on and off for a while, then the ABS light went on and then it was curtains (at a green traffic light aswell

Popped the hood and what looked like one of the injectors was sticking out with the top plastic casing melted.
I got a diagnostic man to give it a read but he couldnt communicate with the ECU (he'd previously given a diagnostic so I know his kit works - I think he was using a piece of kit called Launch).
My fear is the melted plastics + some wires could have damaged the ECU... Just out of curiosity would I need to sell blood to purchase a new ECU + getting in programmed if the worst has happened... Has anyone purchased a new ECU recently?? And how painful was the transaction...
