I am currently producing guides for the following

2003 Wiper + arm:)
Centre Tray (fits between the front seats and retains the 12Volt socket):D
Elasticated Belt System [:p]- I'll send Stuart the picture from Martyn

I know that some have been produced (see link) and there is various information about, but your throughts and photos make it more personel and more club related:)

If you could write a brief fitting guide or want me to do it for other members of the A2OC with their photos, please e-mail. It doesn't need to be elaborate as the other guides, just something for people to use for reference.

It would be nice to include tools used and any problems encountered.

For more info, see http://www.audi-a2.co.uk/guides.htm

I've seen the headlight one in the forum related info.. this is practicaly the installation guide.

Stuart is it possibile to send this information???

Guys,

if you want to produce this in Word you could always e-mail it to me afterwards to produce as a PDF for the website, hence would be unchangeable. Let me know as I'm more than happy to do a conversion where required.

The centre tray should arrive next wednesday and be fitted by the night-time. Hope all goes to plan.
The elasticated belt system will be the following week.

Is there anything else that can be fitted that does not cost the earth or need technical support.

Not sure, but we owe it to ourselves to take on the challenge to find out for the website don't you think?

For me it's:

Floppy wiper: Done
Rear drinks : done
Heated mirrors: will do
Carpet tray: will do (as long as it works) - now ordered awaiting delivery
Cruise: interesting to see if Stu bites the bullet, Stu?
Dipped beam bulbs: sounds a big job for untechnical me, but will do it at some point
Rear seat nets/mapholders: got a quote from VAGparts, but sounds daunting with cutting the seat cloth
Front grill strips from Abt: ordered awaiting delivery (£78 inc. delivery)
Rear door window blinds: Arrived, fitting tomorrow (£70 inc. postage)
Rear elasticated belt system - ordered awaiting delivery

Rear door window blinds: Arriving today (costly, but my son's worth it)
Are these roll-up blinds, Ade, and if so, where did you get them from? I'm planning to get the rear blind from VAG Parts as well - and for the same reason as you.

Edited 'cos Audi finally fixed my CD changer yesterday... only took 2.5 months [V]

Just to clarify, they are for the rear doors, not the rear (boot window).

I got them from Martyn at VAG Parts.

He sent me a picture. Basicaly they look like roll-up blinds that attach into the rubber around the base of the window and then you pull the extendible bit up and clip over the top of the glass. Then as you wind the window up and down they ought to move with it (that's my take on how I think they ought to work, but I haven't touched them yet so cannot confirm).

I should get them in the post today/perhaps tomorrow, so I'll keep you posted.

Lee: please post pictures of the elasticated belt system and if it works... it sits just below the second boot floor, so it has always looked to me as if will only work if the floor is out?...

I've just ordered the front grille strips from Abt.

Spoke to James (nice bloke) and he gave me the 15% discount. He also mentioned that they will officially supply Audi garages direct (but no discount obviously).

They should be with me in the next week or so so another fitting guide coming no doubt....

sending Stuart a picture tonight.

Thanks Ade, they're exactly what I was looking for - my mother has provided me with some stick-on teddy bears for the side windows which... well... aren't really in keeping with the rest of the car :)

Before I trouble Martyn, can you tell me how much they were? I can't find them on VAGParts site - hopefully their new site will be a bit more authoritative [:I]

Ade,
Correct. Gold Star to you..
about £35 UK.
Martyn suggested I may need to drill holes - but on this occasion its not that hard, there are 3 fixing points already there, these hold the rear plastic lining on, you just replace the caps and screws..

Humph....well, my rear blinds have arrived, 2 boxes, a pair in each :(

I shall send one of them back for a refund, so I suggest you ring up Mark to ensure that Martyn diverts it in your direction.

BTW, that would make a single box (pair) at £70.15 + £4 delivery

Looks like some drilling is required to fit them onto the door frame and also into the roof lining. I'll let you know how I get on and write a guide of course.

Oops...
I was thinking that £140-odd was disproportionate with the cost of the rear blind. I think I will hold off for the time being to see what's involved with the fitting. Besides, it's been sunny in Devon this past week - so we're not due to see the sun again until 2004 at the earliest ;)
I do like those Abt strips - I hope they would come with a template, though, 'cos with my hamfisted inability to stick anything in the right place, I'd make a rather expensive mess of my grill... [:I]

The trim strips do indeed come with a template, so you can't go wrong is what I was told. As a fellow hamfister we'll see.

Re the drilling for the blind, even to a scardecat like me it looks straightforward, measurements given and also tool list, with drillbit sizes, etc. I have some help with nursing my son tomorrow so I shall fit them tomorrow. If you want the blinds I send back to Martyn he will be grateful I am sure!

I will get the cruise control but it would involve a day off work - so can't do this for a few months as am in the middle of a busy project!

Stu, did you get a price off Martyn for the bits? (ignoring the cost of the diagnostics)
