Is there any way to connect the ipaq with the head unit to play mp3 music? It would be great use of the the ipag to play mp3 music and GPS the same time!
What kind of head unit do you have ? On my Navi Plus, I can do what you think about, but I have TV Tuner, DVD, PS2 and more. So, it can be done. You can use the 3.5mm phono jack to connect it to two RCA plugs that would go into any amplifier or audio/video input device.
Mine is only the Concert head unit. Thats why thinking to get the Ipaq with Tom Tom for Sat Nav. When the sat Nav not in use can use ipaq to play mp3!! That would be ideal!!!
I prefer not to have any permenent cradles in my car, so neither, iPaq, iPod or phone as something permanent... apart from the small magnet for the phone.
To charge the iPod I also use a Belkin charger. http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore?productLearnMore=T6715LL/A
Advantage of this is that both power and music goes through the bottom connector. If you have an iPod you'll know that the earphone socket is at the top. So this means you only need to unplug one thing when you get out the car.
From the cigarette lighter end of this there is a socket to plug in the cassette deck adaptor.
Advantage of having a Symphony 2 radio is that it has both cassette and CD...
To charge them both I bought one of these cigarette lighter splitters:
Just be careful of the iTrip: apart from being illegal in the UK it also suffers in places like London because of the amount of pirate radio stations around. So one moment Mozart is on and the next you are listening to Brixton Rap!

I've been scratching[2] my head for 2 months now and had actually given up on finding a way to use my portable tv on the SyphonyII (play the audio). And now, like a bat out of hell u've supplied me/us/planet earth with this simple, yet effective, solution.
A CASSETTE-DECK-ADAPTER!!!!!!!!
How could i miss something so simple??!? I've been from shop to shop trying to find a solution, every dude i talked to said that i had to either buy the SATNAV or some other expensive hardware. Cheers man, u've made my day![24]
hehehehe... well... glad I could make your day like that!
