Same here ?Mine became a bit of a garage Queen, clocking up less than 1K each year! Think the value made it less useable ?

Hi ash your right the 968 club sport was always underrated most peeps looked at them like a 944 924 without understanding what they were great track car sally loved ours ..they are another that’s trebled in value for a good one over the years ..I bought it through bca Bridgwater not honestly knowing a great deal about it at that time ..but it was cheap ..turned out a great car .?I too sold my 993 targa earlier this year it was a gem similar thing building project.
Had a 968 previously which I think are very underrated. Now the proud owner of 2 a2's fsi and tdi75 will put some pics of them up when I get the TDI back from a new headgasket.
I know I'll get some flack for this, but had you considered that someone driving such an ostentatiously OTT machine might possibly have problems with his own masculinity, and not have been checking out either your wife or the A2... but you?Interesting discussion. I was trundling along the motorway yesterday afternoon around 60 revelling in the 80plus mpg figures I was averaging when I saw a very distinctive (read big road presence) burnt orange or similar colour wide stance Porsche cruising up in my rear view mirror. As the guy overtook at steady speed he notably had a good look over, now was that an A2 interest or my wife sitting in the passenger seat! Hey he loved the car I could tell ?. It was GT3 RS, wow, epic looking car. Those rear tyres, must be a contender for widest on any road car

Agree with that so sensible fall in value of the older and GT Porsches isn‘t a bad thing, might encourage owners, self included, to use and enjoy them without worrying about values. Just bought OEM roof bars and bike rack on Gumtree for the 996 Turbo and plan to put some miles on it mountain biking in the highlands. When it ever stops raining. Which doesn’t look like any time soon.?Mine became a bit of a garage Queen, clocking up less than 1K each year! Think the value made it less useable ?
Hey mate, feel a bit of a fraud saying welcome to the site as I only joined myself yesterday! But I have had my 1.4 (75) Tdi for fifteen years and yes, I have no idea why I haven't joined before now.I hope I don't regret it.
It's an 02 Reg 1.4 tdi 74bhp. The silver body & paint is in great shape. It's the basic one with no A/C, manual rear windows, no spare etc. Miles are highish at 170k (but it WAS cheap) and as far as I am aware no major issues.... yet. In a couple of days it'll have a new cambelt kit and pump, and I'm waiting 'till then to get totally aquainted with it.
Known faults are things like missing centres to the alloys, a broken rear window winder handle, no user book, missing pull-out luggage cover, worn-down-to-white switches and buttons. The guy I bought it from told me... and I've no reason to disbelieve him... that the alarm horn don't work because the alarm backup battery needs replacing. That's not the fob battery, but the one that powers the alarm even when normal car battery is flat.
Will be attending to these all in due course... and, I dare say, using this forum, looking for advice and sources.
Have had mixed Audi experiences in the past. The 100 Avant 2.3 petrol 5 cylinder was the best car I've ever owned. It drove beautifully... a real autobahn hooligan... and never ever, ever... ever went wrong despite being a little long in the tooth. I had it for 6 years and apart from consumables, it needed nothing... not even a bulb. The A6 2.5 tdi V6 Avant was a different story. Great power and speed, but it cost a fortune in garage bills and breakdowns.
I'd always assumed these A2s were lemons... because they just didn't sell... but I now know it was just because they were just too expensive. A petrol-head friend turned me on to them when I mentioned I wanted something small and cheap to run to get my nervous driver wife back on the road. She's an Audi fan. She looked and liked, and set her heart on one.... so that was it.
So.... Hi everyone!
