Kwik-fit

Now I'm sure the esteemed members here know only too well the pitfalls of Kwik-fit, but here's a shocker :D:

Parents' second car, a 1.6 Fabia, blew a tyre over the weekend (absolutely shredded, it was quite a sight). On inspection in the garage the (non kwikfit) mechanic expressed surprise that Kwikfit had charged in the region of £65 a piece for budget tyres a little over a year ago, especially when only three of them were the required 195/55, with one of them being a 195/50.

Perhaps more surprising, Benfield Skoda happily let the car sail through its MOT and service in January with said tyre mismatch! There's two garages we'll be avoiding from now on...

This is not good for either Benfield or Kwik Fit. I personally have found Kwik Fit in Huddersfield very good on both occassions when using their on-line ordering albeit i did have a very bad experience with Kwik-Fit in Otley some years ago. As for the price i am afraid that is down to buyer being aware of prices to avoid being ripped - off and shopping around/negotiating or asking for a discount (which we Brits are not good at).
