Went to look at an A2 today. 2002 TDi SE, silver with full beige leather interior, double din dash, climate, cruise, in short well specced. Genuine private sale too, not the usual garage rubbish. Just the sort of thing I've been looking for, albeit not entirely perfect.
Two things put me off, for the moment at least. Firstly I am not a fan of leather seats, and I seemed to sit "on" it rather than "in" it. Made for a nice interior though, were it not for the horrible brown steering wheel.
I confess I was swithering about making an offer, till I checked the door hinges and noticed cracks inthe door skins on both doors. I decided this was a reason not to buy the car.
My question is this ... am I likely to find these door cracks on every car I look at, and am I over-reacting? Just how serious is this doors issue?
Thanks
