Loose handbrake grip

Morning,
Somehow Gracie’s leather handbrake grip seems to have come loose and slides up from the metal ring rather too easily for comfort. See photo…

Fortunately it pushes back again easily but it’s rather annoying. I can’t see how it was ever held in place, but I am guessing a clip must be broken somewhere. Does anyone know what’s needed to fix it and is it something that a DIY numpty like me should be able to do? Thanks

Take the grip off and have a look at the underside. There should be a little metal clip there. If its still present, try bending it out ever so slightly and it should give it a bit more grip onto the handbrake cover.

Bingo . Well that turned out to be easy - a bit embarrassed that I didn’t figure that out for myself but I was a bit unsure about removing the grip in case I had trouble putting it back on. Thanks a lot.
