Hi everyone,
I wanted to clean the MAF (Mass Airflow) sensor on my petrol 1.4 A2 but I can’t seem to find the sensor, could someone please tell me where it is located?

Yes you are missing the section that runs down to the airbox which contains the air filter. You can see it clearly in the diagrams @audifan posted, item 16

I've honestly have no idea why it's missing, I've never touched the engine... Should I buy the pipe or it's fine without it? The car always had some power loss problems, ( OBD gives me a P0171 error code), maybe this will fix it I guess?...

Buy the missing parts. Currently unfiltered air is entering the engine. You may also have increased induction noise due to the missing ducting.

The error code refers to lean mixture which could be caused by the lack of ducting.

So, without it you are pulling in unfiltered air so dust will be pulled into the engine which is less than ideal! I’m not sure if it is possible to buy the part new now but might be worth a search of breakers yards. Is your air filter box present or missing also?

Quite possible someone threw away all the correct parts and fitted an aftermarket air filter directly on to the inlet manifold. The filter now no longer there.

The air filter it's present, I guess it's gonna be hard finding only the pipe...

If you can't find one, measure the diameter at each end and buy a short length of flex duct, and maybe gaffer tape. Anything to get filtered air into the engine.
Something like this ...
Mac.

I have a AUA 1.4, can take a photo of engine bay & post here , it may help see whats missing etc.
