I managed to fit the Milltek exhaust today and wont be doing another exhaust in a hurry
. What i didnt realise is that the A2 exhaust is one piece and to remove it it has to be cut off.
Anyway it took me a few hours to do as i was having trouble putting the new rear box into the rubber hangers. A quick brain wave and i realised that spraying the rubbers with wd40 the box went straight on. The exhaust looks very much stealth which i very much like, no big exhaust on this baby just an oversized pipe compared to the standard box.
There is not much difference in sound in fact it sounds a little quieter except it has a slight warble from the rear on tick over. I am not sure what it sounds like whilst quickly accelerating as i didnt want to cause the exhaust sealent paste to get blown off by the cars monsterous power
i will try that once it has sealed itself properly.
I took the car out down the road earlier and instantly noticed more torque and responce whilst pulling away gently. It seems like the standard exhaust was very restrictive before but now the car seems to want to go,go,go without much effort.
Next up is fitting a green performance filter in the next few days then possibly a tweek on a rolling road.
I did consider fitting a induction kit but after excessively reading up on TDI modifying it seems that an induction kit would be prone to sucking up all that hot air from the hot engine reducing power where as fitting a performance filter inside the filter box would protect it from such heat intake and draw cold air from outside the vehicle. It would also make the TDI sound even more like a tractor!
All in all i am very pleased with the results!
